With a strong reputation for quality, practical innovation and customer-focused product development, our client is now looking to appoint a Technical Product Manager – Hardware Innovation to help shape and deliver the next generation of physical products.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working close to engineering, product development, prototyping, testing and early-stage commercialisation. It would suit a technically strong Product Manager, Product Engineer, NPI specialist or innovation-focused professional with experience in hardware-led environments.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Product & Innovation, you will lead new product initiatives from concept and validation through to initial market launch.
You will work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales and Marketing to identify product opportunities, define requirements, support feasibility assessments, guide prototyping and testing, and help bring commercially viable products to market.
This is a role for someone who can balance technical detail with commercial thinking — someone who understands how products are designed, built, tested, costed and launched.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead early-stage development of new hardware products
- Translate customer, market and technical needs into clear product requirements
- Develop product briefs, technical specifications and development documentation
- Assess feasibility, manufacturability, cost, quality and compliance considerations
- Support prototyping, field testing, validation and product refinement
- Work with suppliers, OEMs and internal teams to progress product development
- Contribute to product positioning, launch planning and early commercialisation
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies and competitor activity
- Act as a key link between technical, operational and commercial teams
About You
You may come from product management, product engineering, new product introduction, commercialisation, technical project management or innovation within a hardware-led business.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in hardware product development, NPI or technical product management
- Strong technical fluency and confidence working closely with engineering teams
- Exposure to manufacturability, sourcing, quality, compliance or supplier engagement
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving and product validation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and commercial teams
- A genuine interest in bringing new physical products to life
Experience with battery-powered products, electrical products, appliances, equipment, tools or adjacent hardware categories will be highly regarded.
Why This Role?
This is an opportunity to join a growing WA-based business with a strong product heritage, established market presence and a genuine commitment to innovation.
You will be part of a collaborative, energetic and people-focused workplace where ideas are valued, products are real, and your work will directly contribute to future growth.
A competitive salary package is on offer, along with a supportive team culture and a workplace that values initiative, ownership and practical innovation.
