We’re supporting a large-scale organisational expansion and are seeking an experienced IT Manager to provide hands-on technical leadership across a complex workplace transformation. This role will take ownership of designing, specifying, and overseeing the delivery of modern workplace technology environments.

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring solutions are user-centred, standards-driven, and delivered to a high technical standard, working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and validate workplace technology standards and configurations.
  • Specify end-user hardware including devices, docking solutions, monitors, mounts, cabling and desk layouts.
  • Design and implement meeting room technology solutions (e.g. Microsoft Teams Rooms, AV systems, displays).
  • Review and challenge supplier proposals for technical accuracy, suitability and value.
  • Oversee wireless access point design, coverage and commissioning.
  • Assess edge-switch capacity and identify upgrade or scaling requirements.
  • Review structured cabling designs and coordinate with contractors during delivery.
  • Provide on-site technical oversight during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all designs prioritise user experience, accessibility and ergonomic/DSE best practice.
  • Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation (specs, diagrams, commissioning notes).
  • Contribute to procurement processes and supplier selection decisions.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with end-user hardware, desk setups, docking and multi-screen environments.
  • Solid understanding of DSE principles and user-focused workstation design.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms and meeting room AV technologies (cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, controllers).
  • Experience specifying and evaluating large display and projection solutions.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 and Teams device integration.
  • Proven experience designing wireless networks, including access point placement and coverage planning (ideally with Cisco Meraki).
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (VLANs, switching, patching, capacity planning).
  • Experience reviewing structured cabling designs and working with contractors on fit-out/refurbishment projects.
  • Strong ability to review and challenge technical proposals from suppliers and partners
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site during critical phases of delivery and commissioning.
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused and user-centric mindset.
  • Confident influencing stakeholders and suppliers without reliance on hierarchy.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Meraki switching.
  • Familiarity with interactive collaboration tools (e.g. smart boards, interactive displays).
  • Ability to interpret CAD drawings and technical floor plans.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes.
  • Relevant Microsoft, AV, or networking certifications.
