Our latest Budapest Centre-of-Excellence houses our Quant, Front Office & Risk Technology Services teams. Our services include front office trading platforms, eTrading systems, pricing and risk technologies. Consultants in this location have the opportunity to be mentored by industry-leading Front Office, Risk & Quantitative experts, and work with a variety of top-tier clients including global Investment Banks, Asset Management firms, and market-leading Hedge Funds.

About the Practice:

Part of our partnerships with various clients, we are currently expanding our front office eTrading and technology teams to keep pace with the rapid growth in this business. This build is being led by industry-leading front-office and quantitative specialists, bringing deep experience from top-tier investment banks, hedge funds, and asset managers. Our consultants gain exposure to a variety of projects across asset classes and trading functions (including electronic trading, pricing & analytics, execution platforms, and risk technology), with each project typically taking 12 to 18 months. As a firm we engage in a wide range of services including but not limited to:

  • Front office and eTrading platform development supporting electronic execution, pricing, and trade workflows
  • Low-latency, mission-critical systems for pricing, execution, market connectivity, and regulatory compliance
  • Modernisation of legacy trading platforms into scalable, event-driven and microservices-based architectures
  • Engineering of high-performance backend systems supporting real-time trading and market data processing

About the Role & Responsibilities:


The consultant will be working closely with Front Office stakeholders, quants, and engineering groups to design, develop, and enhance electronic trading platforms and front office systems. This includes multi-year transformation initiatives across trading technology departments to modernise execution platforms, pricing components, and real-time trading services.


The role involves hands-on development across the full software lifecycle, contributing to the build-out of low-latency services, core trading components, and distributed systems. Consultants will participate in translation, documentation, implementation and systems support and testing of front office eTrading environments.


Main responsibilities will include developing scalable and robust Java services, contributing to distributed and event-driven architectures, implementing core trading and execution workflows, and supporting the ongoing evolution of front office platforms.

Qualifications:

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will have a combination of functional and technical skills such as:


  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java frameworks and libraries such as spring/spring boot, messaging frameworks
  • Exposure OR experience in front office eTrading or electronic trading technology, such as execution platforms, or pricing engines, or real-time services, or full trade lifecycle workflows
  • Experience or exposure in enterprise level java development, with an understanding of JVM fundamentals, multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning
  • Experience supporting distributed systems, including RESTful services, asynchronous processing, and messaging-based architecture
  • Practical knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including schema design, performance optimisation, and data modelling
  • Aware of enterprise engineering practices, such as fault tolerance, scalability, logging, monitoring, CI/CD, containerisation, and modern tooling (Git, Maven, Jenkins); Cloud exposure (AWS/Azure) is a plus
  • Experience or exposure working in financial services or capital markets environments delivering technology solutions in collaboration with global team
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, front office-aligned environments

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge in trading concepts such as order management, execution workflows, pricing engines, or understand market connectivity; Functional Understanding of financial instruments and front office trading workflows.
