Role Description
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is a full-time, on-site position based in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves overseeing daily operations related to financial aid, assisting the Associate Director of Financial Aid with the development and implementation of aid policies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Responsibilities include packaging, federal and state grants, verification, providing excellent service to students and families, and collaborating with the Enrollment Management team to support student success.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in awarding returning students
- Verification, including updates and revising awards
- State Grants and Pell Grant reporting and balancing
- Works closely with the Admission staff in recruiting incoming students, including meeting and advising prospective students, and presentations at events
- Strong Customer Service skills and a student-focused approach
- Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; at least 2-5 years financial aid experience
- Experience with PowerFAIDS and US Department of Education platforms is a plus.
