SCOPE: This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, a high level of ownership, and the ability to identify process improvements in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Execute key components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items
- Support financial statement preparation and assist in identifying trends or discrepancies
- Manage amortization schedules and ensure proper expense recognition
- Perform detailed F&B reconciliations, including revenue, comps, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis
- Investigate and resolve F&B discrepancies and operational issues as they arise
- Complete payroll reconciliations, ensuring alignment between payroll systems and general ledger
- Reconcile kiosk, ATM, and cash activity, including high-volume transactional review
- Assist with revenue and banking entries, ensuring proper classification and accuracy
- Prepare and analyze month-end accruals across multiple departments
- Monitor expense trends and support department leaders with financial insight where needed
- Assist with year-end audit and support external auditors with requested documentation and analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, gaming regulations, and accounting policies
- Assist with regulatory filings, tax support, and licensing requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual effort, and strengthen controls
- Assist in training and mentoring staff accountants and other team members
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Two or more years of accounting experience required.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations preferred.
- Experience with F&B reconciliation, payroll reconciliation, COGS, amortization, and bank/revenue entries preferred.
- Prior experience in casino, hospitality, food and beverage, or other high-volume accounting environment preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software preferred.
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Must possess strong cross-department communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Finance, Operations, F&B, Cage, Payroll, and other departments.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
- Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid New Hampshire gaming license.
