Position Summary
The Social Media Manager is a critical member of the team's social media and marketing departments, playing a lead role in shaping the team's social media presence and engaging Canucks Sports and Entertainment’s (CSE) online audiences.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned as required)
- Lead the management, design, and cross-functional communication of the Vancouver Canucks social media calendar, including brand campaigns, ticketing, community, corporate partnerships, content, etc.
- Develop integrated social media run of shows for all Canucks game days, brand tentpoles, community platforms, and business initiatives
- Implement a robust measurement system and lead social reporting communication across the organization
- Ideate social media campaigns and develop strong briefs for the creative and content departments
- Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships to ensure all social media activations are prepared, optimized, and executed across all social media platforms
- Strategize with Marketing to ensure that brand campaigns are effectively aligned with social media and are optimized and executed across all social media platforms
- Provide oversight and strategic leadership to additional CSE brands including the Vancouver Warriors, Abbotsford Canucks, Vancouver Surge, and Rogers Arena
- Offer mentorship and guidance to Social Media team members as a senior member of the team
- Create and optimize both copy and content for posting across all social media platforms
- Participate in meetings with league, vendor, and platform partners
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a business-related discipline
- 5 years of experience in a social, digital, or content marketing strategy role
- Experience leading cross-functional peer groups to deliver integrated solutions and a proven ability to develop data-driven and insights-based strategy
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Premiere
- Experience with social media management platforms, project management systems, and content management systems
- A thorough understanding of social media best practices on all platforms
- Highly organized and an absolute attention to detail
- Excellent people and communications skills, with an ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels within an organization
- Required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Onsite role at our office in downtown Vancouver
