We’re working with a specialist engineering solutions business seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead growth across key infrastructure and mining accounts.
This is a client-facing commercial role suited to someone who can combine technical understanding, strategic account development and disciplined B2B sales execution.
You’ll be responsible for building and managing a regional network of customers, consultants, contractors, engineers and industry partners, identifying opportunities, shaping technical solutions, leading proposal development and winning work.
The Role
You will:
- Develop and grow relationships across the infrastructure and mining markets.
- Identify key customers and build strategic account plans to drive repeat business.
- Engage with engineers, contractors, consultants and other technical stakeholders.
- Lead site visits, client meetings, presentations and technical discussions.
- Coordinate proposals, estimates and commercial submissions.
- Work closely with internal technical, estimating and operations teams.
- Manage opportunities and client activity through Salesforce.
- Follow up proposals, negotiate outcomes and close sales.
- Support smooth project handovers once work is won.
- Maintain strong client service standards before, during and after project delivery.
About You
You will have:
- At least 5 years’ technical B2B sales experience.
- A background in building, construction, engineering, infrastructure or mining-related markets.
- Strong commercial acumen and a clear understanding of the sales process.
- Confidence engaging with technical stakeholders and translating client issues into workable solutions.
- Excellent communication, proposal writing and relationship management skills.
- Strong organisational discipline and CRM/sales pipeline management experience.
- A proactive, accountable and results-focused approach.
- A current driver licence and full Australian working rights.
A tertiary qualification in building, construction, engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
