Role Description

The Major Gifts Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Phoenix area. This role is responsible for cultivating relationships with donors, identifying new prospects, and securing major financial gifts to advance Barrow’s mission. Daily tasks include creating and executing donor engagement plans, generating tailored proposals, conducting donor meetings, and maintaining accurate records of donor interactions. The Major Gifts Officer will also collaborate with the development team to align strategies and goals, while actively contributing to fundraising campaigns and events.


Qualifications

  • Strong skills in donor relations, relationship management, and stewardship
  • Experience in fundraising, including securing large gifts and cultivating new donor prospects
  • Effective communication, public speaking, and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency in proposal writing, donor database management, and data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies
  • Team collaboration skills and the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, or healthcare fundraising preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field required
  • Willingness to attend donor events and community functions, as needed
