Head of PMO (Transformation & Delivery Excellence)

This is a high-impact transformation position at the heart of delivery performance across the organisation. You will play a pivotal role in moving the business from inconsistent execution to predictable, scalable, commercially disciplined delivery. As Head of PMO, you will build, lead, and continuously develop a high-performing Project Management Office that enables the organisation to deliver customer outcomes at pace, with quality, and at margin. You will establish the frameworks, governance, and discipline required to transform delivery into a repeatable, data-driven, high-confidence function aligned to strategic priorities

What You’ll Be Responsible For;

PMO Strategy & Leadership

• Define and deliver the PMO strategy, operating model, and roadmap
• Establish a centre of excellence across project, programme, and portfolio management
• Build and lead a high-performing team spanning governance, planning, and analysis
• Embed a culture of accountability, rigour, and continuous improvement

Governance & Assurance

• Design and implement end-to-end delivery governance frameworks
• Introduce robust stage gates, QA controls, and assurance processes
• Ensure consistent delivery methodologies across all programmes
• Drive compliance with contractual, operational, and quality standards

Delivery Performance

Drive measurable improvement in;

• On-Time Delivery (OTD)
• Right First Time (RFT)
• Installation and delivery quality
• Establish clear performance metrics and executive reporting
• Identify and mitigate risks early, ensuring delivery confidence

Commercial & Financial Performance

• Link delivery performance directly to commercial outcomes
• Improve margin, cost control, and resource utilisation
• Provide transparent portfolio-level financial insight
• Reduce rework and inefficiencies through disciplined delivery

Portfolio & Demand Manangment

• Implement structured portfolio prioritisation and governance
• Align delivery capacity with customer commitments and strategic goals
• Enable data-led decisions on investment, resource allocation, and risk trade offs.

Stakeholder Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
• Provide clear insight into performance, risks, and delivery confidence

Challenge constructively across:

• Sales (scope and commitments)
• Delivery (execution disciplines)
• Leadership (priorities and trade offs)

About You

You are a credible, delivery-focused leader with a track record of transforming PMO or delivery functions within complex environments. You bring:

• Proven experience building or reshaping a PMO function

Demonstrable success improving:

• Delivery performance
• Governance discipline
• Commercial outcomes

Strong experience managing:

• Complex portfolios and programmes
• Customer-facing deliveryenvironments
