Duties And Responsibilities
- Program and operate CMM equipment for inspection and data collection
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and detailed dimensional layouts
- Inspect precision machined components with tight tolerances and complex geometries
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and model-based definitions
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve dimensional issues
- Develop and improve inspection and metrology processes
- Analyze measurement data and provide actionable feedback
- Support compliance with aerospace and DoD quality standards
- Utilize standard inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Internships or work experience in metrology, quality inspection, or CMM programming
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Desire to work in a hands-on role. This is not a desk job!
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with PC-DMIS
- Background in aerospace, defense, or prototype manufacturing
- Experience with first article inspection
- Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining environments
- 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
