Position Overview


Oculens is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support our growing sales organization. This role combines technical expertise, consultative selling, and customer relationship management to help clients evaluate, design, and implement modern physical security and infrastructure solutions.


The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking with executives, IT teams, facilities leaders, and security professionals while translating business challenges into scalable technical solutions. This individual will work closely with the sales team, engineering teams, project managers, and strategic partners such as Verkada to drive successful customer outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle to provide technical consultation and solution design
  • Conduct customer discovery meetings, site walks, system assessments, and technical presentations
  • Design and recommend integrated security solutions including:
  • Video surveillance systems
  • Access control systems
  • Intercom and visitor management
  • Environmental sensors
  • Networking and cloud infrastructure
  • Develop bills of materials (BOMs), scopes of work, diagrams, and solution proposals
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for Verkada products and integrations
  • Assist customers with system architecture, deployment planning, and product demonstrations
  • Collaborate with project management and implementation teams to ensure successful deployments
  • Support RFP/RFQ responses and technical documentation
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, physical security trends, and cloud-based infrastructure solutions
  • Build strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, and channel partners


Qualifications


  • Experience with physical security systems, low-voltage infrastructure, or enterprise networking
  • Strong understanding of cloud-managed security platforms such as Verkada, Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, or similar technologies
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience conducting site surveys and developing technical solution designs
  • Familiarity with IP networking concepts including VLANs, switching, PoE, and wireless infrastructure
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities and customer-first mindset


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working with Verkada products and ecosystem
  • Background in physical security integration or low-voltage construction
  • Knowledge of access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience supporting enterprise or multi-site deployments
