Hartmann Young is exclusively partnered with a privately held, high-growth contract manufacturer to appoint a Procurement Director.


This is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the organisation’s strategic sourcing and procurement strategy across raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend. You will bring deep market knowledge, strong supplier networks, and a track record of delivering cost optimisation, supply continuity, and operational efficiency within a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s procurement and raw material inventory strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Lead sourcing activities across raw materials, packaging, and MRO categories
  • Own supplier relationships, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Identify and implement alternative sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and improve supply continuity
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories, delivering measurable savings
  • Set and deliver annual cost savings targets in partnership with Finance
  • Establish and execute business continuity plans to manage sourcing and supply risks
  • Oversee procurement processes, policies, and governance across the organisation
  • Monitor team performance, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with internal approval frameworks (DOA)
  • Partner with Finance on cash management, cost variance analysis, and forecasting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, R&D, and S&OP to ensure alignment across the supply chain


Experience & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or related discipline (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years’ procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience within VMS or nutraceutical/food/pharma manufacturing preferred
  • Strong understanding of procurement within regulated environments
