Last year, we opened the doors to our new design studio in Salzburg, Austria, and we are now in an important building phase. We aren't looking for someone to just fit into a pre-existing corporate machine; we need a founding tier Transportation Designer who is ready to help us lay the foundations of our European design hub.

At Benda, we do things differently. We combine local creative freedom with the massive production scale of our headquarters in Hangzhou. You will work in a flexible, hands-on environment, collaborating daily with our engineering and design teams. This role is about real projects. We focus on aesthetics and forms that are destined for the road, not just the shelf. If you want to see your work go from a sketch to a production-ready vehicle, this is the place to be.

In this role you will

• Lead with Creative Ideation: Translate raw ideas into reality. You will be responsible for the visual DNA of new projects, moving fluidly from dynamic hand sketches to Photoshop renderings and 3D concept mockups.
• Bridge Style and Production: Move projects from the first stroke of the pen to production-ready surfaces. You’ll ensure the soul of the design stays intact while navigating the technical constraints of mass manufacturing.
• Collaborate Globally: Work closely with our engineering teams in Hangzhou. This involves daily digital syncs and occasional travel to China to ensure the design intent is perfectly executed in the final product.
• Be Flexible: As we grow the studio, you’ll help establish our creative workflows. We need someone comfortable with an evolving, fast-paced environment.
• Grow with Benda: As an early member of the design team, you will have significant opportunities to shape the brand’s global identity.

We are looking for

• Qualified Transportation Designers: You must hold a degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design specializing in mobility. Note: This is a creative styling role. We are not seeking mechanical or CAD engineers at this time.
• A Creative Powerhouse: You have a relentless drive for ideation. You are an expert at hand sketching and can quickly visualize complex volumes and bold new directions for 2/4 wheel mobility.
• Proven Experience: You have minimum 2 to 3 years of professional experience in motorcycle design, specifically involving projects that have successfully moved into production.
• Design Software Mastery: Proficiency in Blender and Photoshop is essential for our workflow. Experience with Alias, Rhino, solidworks is a significant plus for high level production surfacing.
• An Adaptable Mindset: You enjoy the challenge of a studio in its infancy and are happy to take on various tasks to help the team succeed.
• Global Communication: You are comfortable working across cultures and time zones. Excellent English is required. Knowledge of Chinese or German is a benefit.
