Role Description
Lotus International is seeking a full-time on-site Manufacturing Engineer to join our Canton, MI production plant. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, process improvement, and hands-on manufacturing support. You’ll work closely with production teams to enhance product quality, optimize processes, and drive cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
- Support and troubleshoot new or existing product and process issues, including design, materials, and production methods.
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
- Determine root causes of failures and recommend changes to designs, tolerances, or processes using statistical methods.
- Develop and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes and engineering procedures.
- Communicate technical capabilities, production schedules, and process information to support manufacturing operations.
- Supervise and mentor technicians, technologists, and analysts as needed.
- Design, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Evaluate finished products against specifications and quality standards.
- Develop processes to produce, rework, repair or change products.
- Estimate production costs, timelines, and staffing requirements for new designs or processes.
- Train production personnel on new methods and best practices.
- Conduct testing on finished products or manufacturing processes to establish standards and validate requirements.
- Assist with purchasing equipment, materials, parts, or other resources.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify process improvements.
- Experience applying lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and supervisory skills.
