Summary

We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team in Kitchener. In this vital role, you will be an integral part of financial operations, assist with accurate accounting practices, and support our commitment to exceptional service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing transportation company dedicated to safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the monthly close process
• Prepare reconciliations, working papers, and supporting schedules
• Support preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting
• Improve reporting quality, consistency, and timeliness
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Participate in development of KPI reporting and operational analysis
• Support cash flow reporting and working capital management
• Assist with lender reporting and covenant compliance
• Lead detailed execution of ERP and systems implementation activities
• Support process design, documentation, and workflow improvement
• Implement and maintain internal controls and approval processes
• Support development and implementation of delegation of authority frameworks
• Coordinate audit requests and support year end audit process
• Support tax, HST, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Assist with process automation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support development of scalable finance processes and reporting structures
• Work closely with operational leaders across the organization

Qualifications

• CPA designation required
• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience
• Public accounting background preferred
• Strong accounting and financial reporting foundation
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Exposure to ERP or accounting systems required
• Interest in systems, process improvement, and operational finance
