Associate Scrum Master
Location: Tampa, FL or Dallas, TC [Hybrid]
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Overview
We are seeking an Associate Scrum Master to support Agile delivery teams in executing projects efficiently and on time. This role is responsible for facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery & Execution
- Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
- Ensure teams follow Agile principles and best practices
- Support the delivery of projects with a focus on quality, predictability, and timeliness
Team Coordination & Support
- Act as the primary point of coordination for cross-functional team members (developers, QA, product owners, etc.)
- Identify and remove blockers or escalate issues impacting team progress
- Help manage dependencies across teams and stakeholders
Backlog & Planning Support
- Partner with Product Owners to maintain a well-organized and prioritized backlog
- Ensure user stories are clearly defined and ready for development
- Support release planning and sprint execution activities
Coaching & Continuous Improvement
- Coach team members on Agile practices and encourage continuous learning
- Foster a collaborative, self-organizing team environment
- Promote continuous improvement through feedback and retrospectives
Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor sprint progress and key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown)
- Provide clear and timely updates on progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders
- Maintain visibility into project timelines and deliverables
Release & Delivery Coordination
- Support release management activities, including coordination across development, testing, and production environments
- Help ensure smooth and timely delivery of product releases
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in Agile environments or Scrum-related roles
- Basic understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
- Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Exposure to modern technologies or AI tools (e.g., Copilot or similar platforms)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
