Business Process Manager – Sugar Land, TX

About the Role

Our partner is creating a new Business Process Manager role as the founding member of its Anti-Chaos Office, with a mandate to identify operational friction, eliminate it, and build scalable processes and standards that will support the company’s next phase of growth.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact position reporting directly to the President. The Business Process Manager will work across all departments—Engineering, Operations, Sales, Quality, Finance, Product, and IT—to document, standardize, and improve how the organization operates. This is not an observational or audit-focused role; this individual will drive change, build adoption, and hold teams accountable for operating with discipline and consistency.

This function will begin as a one-person team. The selected candidate will build it from the ground up, prove its value, and shape how the Anti-Chaos Office evolves over time. For technology-enabled process improvements, this role will partner closely with the IT Business Solutions team, acting as the internal customer by defining requirements while IT delivers technical solutions.

This position is full-time onsite at the company’s headquarters in Sugar Land, TX. Some travel may be required.

Who They Are Looking For

Our partner is seeking a process-driven professional who is energized by identifying inefficiencies and solving them. The ideal candidate has a strong instinct for recognizing broken or missing processes and the ability to design and implement effective solutions.

This individual combines systems thinking with hands-on execution—capable of mapping complex workflows, identifying failure points, designing improved processes, documenting them, training teams, and ensuring successful adoption.

They must be both diplomatic and persistent, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization without direct authority. Experience in change management is essential, as this role will require guiding teams through shifts in how they operate.

The ideal candidate thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment, is comfortable operating independently, and is motivated by making a measurable impact across an organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Documentation and Standardization:
  • Document, map, and standardize core business processes across all departments. Develop clear SOPs and workflow documentation, eliminate redundancies, and maintain a centralized process library as the single source of truth.
  • Cross-Functional Process Improvement:
  • Identify high-impact improvement opportunities and lead initiatives from problem identification through implementation and adoption. Utilize data to measure performance and demonstrate ROI. Apply structured methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Training and Change Management:
  • Own training and change management efforts for new and updated processes. Develop materials, conduct training sessions, and ensure adoption. Drive accountability for adherence to standardized processes.
  • IT Business Solutions Partnership:
  • Act as the primary liaison to the IT Business Solutions team. Translate business process needs into clear technical requirements for automation, workflows, dashboards, and system integrations. Maintain alignment through shared priorities and regular coordination.
  • Operational Excellence Standards:
  • Reinforce key operating systems, including Tiered Daily Management, Obeya governance, and DRI accountability frameworks. Ensure alignment with AS9100D quality standards.
  • Metrics and Reporting:
  • Establish and monitor process performance metrics. Provide regular updates to leadership on progress, adoption, and impact. Use insights to prioritize future initiatives and support ongoing investment.

Culture and Expectations

The organization is seeking individuals who are passionate about operational excellence, take pride in building effective systems, and are motivated by making a meaningful impact.
