About the Opportunity

Stratavia Aviation Search is partnering with a growing Part 135 operator in the Tampa Bay

area to identify a Director of Operations (DO). This is a key leadership role responsible for

overseeing daily flight operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational

excellence across a dynamic and expanding fleet.

Key Responsibilities

 Provide overall leadership and oversight of all flight operations under Part 135

 Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards

 Act as primary liaison with the FAA, including audits, inspections, and regulatory

matters

 Oversee pilot hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management

 Manage operational control processes and ensure safe, efficient execution of all flights

 Develop and maintain SOPs, GOM, and operational procedures

 Collaborate with Maintenance, Safety, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless

operations

 Support company growth initiatives, including fleet expansion and operational scaling

 Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

 Prior experience as a Director of Operations or Assistant DO under Part 135

 Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 135 regulations

 Demonstrated experience managing pilots and flight operations teams

 Experience interacting directly with the FAA (POI/Principal Operations Inspector)

 Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

 Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred Experience

 Previous experience with a small to mid-size charter operator

 Experience scaling or building operational infrastructure

 Pilot background (ATP preferred but not required)
