Your Role
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance, operations, and strategic development of stores in Singapore. This role requires a strong leader who can drive sales, ensure operational excellence, manage and develop teams, and uphold company standards across all locations. The Area Manager acts as a key link between individual outlets and senior management, ensuring business objectives are met and a consistent customer experience is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales, profitability, and market share targets for the assigned area.
- Analyze market trends, competition, and customer behavior to identify new business opportunities and drive growth.
- Set clear sales and revenue goals for each location and ensure their achievement.
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations across all assigned locations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual merchandising standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock management, and loss prevention strategies.
- Manage budgets and expenses for the area, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- To effectively manage new store openings and closures
- To adhere to all retail legislation and make procedural recommendations
- Address and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
- Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate and develop store management teams ensuring that managers strive to exceed existing performance standards
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and development initiatives for staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure effective communication between individual locations and senior management.
- Create a high performing culture through effective people management and clear succession plans
- Customer Experience
- Network effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Champion a consistent and exceptional customer experience across all stores.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and feedback professionally and satisfactorily.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Analyze sales reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and financial data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on area performance, challenges, and action plans.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned area in Singapore.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in an Area Manager, District Manager, or similar multi-stores management role, preferably within retail industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
