Contract Duration: 12 Months (Renewable, subject to performance)

Location: Bangsar South (Fully Onsite)

Working Hours: 11:30 PM – 9:00 AM (Monday – Friday)

Work Shift: Supporting Canada Time Zone (may vary during daylight saving)


Job Purpose

The Server Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and managing server infrastructure and related services to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with IT security standards. The role involves providing L2/L3 support, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and supporting migration and enhancement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and manage server and infrastructure services, including:
  • Anti-virus systems
  • Microsoft 365 (M365)
  • Databases
  • Active Directory
  • Exchange Mail
  • File Services
  • Terminal Services / RDS
  • Web Servers (IIS, FTP)
  • IT scanning services
  • Ensure server architecture aligns with availability and capacity planning to meet SLA requirements
  • Participate in design, implementation, and enhancement of server and infrastructure setups
  • Monitor system logs and event logs, and perform remedial actions when issues occur
  • Prepare capacity planning reports and system performance trend analysis
  • Design and implement housekeeping routines for system maintenance
  • Ensure backup operations are executed successfully and data integrity is maintained
  • Perform backup restoration when required
  • Design and manage batch job scheduling and troubleshoot failed jobs
  • Manage print queue systems and related operations
  • Maintain and update technical documentation (SOP, RCA, Knowledge Base articles)
  • Ensure compliance with Group IT security policies and standards
  • Provide L2/L3 technical support for incidents, service requests, and root cause analysis


Key Technical Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019)
  • Experience in cluster troubleshooting, installation, and configuration
  • Strong troubleshooting experience in L2/L3 infrastructure support

  • RDS / RDWeb
  • TCP/IP Networking
  • IIS & FTP
  • Citrix
  • Backup Exec / Veeam


Migration Experience (Mandatory)

  • M365 Migration (On-Premise to Cloud)
  • Windows Server Migration (Exchange + Active Directory)
  • VMware ESXi / VM Migration
  • File Server / File Management Migration


Preferred Tools & Skills

  • Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds
  • ITSM Tools: SummitAI / Service Management tools
  • Patch & Deployment Tools: ManageEngine Desktop Central
  • Scripting: PowerShell
  • Microsoft Office 365 administration


Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft MCSE / MCSA
  • Citrix CCA / CCEE
  • ITIL Foundation


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure/server engineering (L2/L3 support)
  • Strong experience in incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and system support
