Property Manager – Managing Agents
Indexed description
Midland Heart is a leading social housing provider and property owner with a growing residential and commercial leasehold estate. We are creating a new specialist role to strengthen oversight of our third-party managed portfolio, with a laser focus on managing agent performance, data compliance, and service quality across a geographically dispersed estate.
This role will suit a commercially minded property professional who enjoys operating as the intelligent client — setting expectations, challenging delivery, and holding partners to account.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the handover of new schemes to ensure all pertinent data is accurately captured within our housing management systems.
- Manage agents on a site-by-site basis through estate inspections and quality assurance checks, mitigating risk in line with Midland Heart service level agreements.
- Act as the responsible person for the third-party property safety certification process, working closely with our Building Safety Team to ensure 100% compliance.
- Lead tenant engagement and ensure all grievances are appropriately raised and resolved. You will ensure tenants clearly understand the relationship between Midland Heart and their managing agent.
- Scrutinise and approve third-party management charges and invoices. You will follow escalation frameworks for legal disputes and monitor reactive and major repairs to ensure timely completion.
- ATPI (Associate of The Property Institute) Qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience in private property management.
- Proven experience in private residential and/or commercial leasehold management, including legislative and policy frameworks.
- Experience leading and developing geographically dispersed operational teams, with a focus on core performance management.
- A track record of managing budgets, scrutinising invoices, and delivering value for money.
- The confidence to challenge stakeholders, manage legal escalations, and maintain professional relationships.
