We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Environmental Services (EVS) Operations to lead and support a team of Regional EVS Managers across multiple markets.
This role is responsible for driving operational success, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality environmental services programs across a diverse portfolio of healthcare and senior living facilities.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in EVS within healthcare settings, proven success managing multi-site operations, and the ability to develop high-performing teams while maintaining client satisfaction and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee EVS operations across multiple regions, ensuring consistency in service delivery and adherence to company standards
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to Regional EVS Managers and site-level leadership
- Conduct routine site visits to assess performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement
Client Relations & Satisfaction
- Serve as a primary escalation point for client concerns and ensure timely resolution
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facility administrators and stakeholders
- Partner with clients to align EVS programs with facility goals and regulatory requirements
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including infection prevention standards
- Lead survey readiness efforts and support facilities during regulatory inspections
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs, audits, and corrective action plans
Financial Performance
- Manage regional budgets, labor models, and cost controls to meet or exceed financial targets
- Analyze P&L statements and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
- Support contract renewals, pricing strategies, and growth initiatives
Team Development
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing Regional Managers and EVS leaders
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance management
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
Strategic Growth
- Support business development efforts, including new account onboarding and transitions
- Assist in standardizing processes and implementing best practices across markets
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and operational scaling
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of EVS or facilities management experience, with at least 3+ years in a multi-site leadership role
- Strong knowledge of healthcare environmental services, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Proven leadership experience managing remote teams across multiple markets
- Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting and P&L management
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel (up to 50–75%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Assisted Living, or Acute Care settings
- CHESP (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional) or similar certification
- Experience with EVS technologies, reporting systems, and workforce management tools
