About The Role
This position is responsible for formulating and executing strategic frameworks to identify, prioritize, and develop high-impact business opportunities across multiple sectors, including Mobility, Financial Services, Health, Energy & Environment, and other new emerging areas of interest to ALJ (e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics & embodied intelligence, low altitude economy, green energy technologies, etc.). The Strategy & Business Development Manager / Senior Manager will assess market landscapes, competitive dynamics, and alignment with ALJ's long-term objectives, while engaging with potential partners such as manufacturers, service providers, and technology firms to develop strategic alliances, negotiate distribution or partnership agreements, and support long-term relationship management. The role demands close coordination with ALJ stakeholders to integrate sector-specific strategies, and ensure all pursuits deliver measurable value in line with corporate priorities.
Description:
- Strategically identify, evaluate, and secure new partnerships with Chinese manufacturers, service providers and technology firms across key sectors, including Mobility, Financial Services, Health, Energy & Environment, and other new emerging areas of interest to ALJ (e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics & embodied intelligence, low altitude economy, green energy technologies, etc.)
- Serve as the key account manager for strategic partners, maintaining relationships throughout the partnership lifecycle and ensuring alignment with ALJ’s strategic objectives
- Lead or support strategic business development projects, coordinating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
- Conduct market research to build market intelligence, assess industry trends, and identify growth opportunities that advance ALJ’s growth, diversification and innovation agenda
Major Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and analysis across multiple sectors—including Mobility, Financial Services, Health, Energy & Environment, and other new emerging areas of interest to ALJ (e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics & embodied intelligence, low altitude economy, green energy technologies, etc.)—to build market intelligence and identify new business opportunities for ALJ
- Formulate strategic business development roadmaps, prioritizing high-potential opportunities based on market trends, competitive landscapes, and ALJ's core strengths to guide expansion efforts
- Develop and refine go-to-market strategies, including value propositions, pricing models, and entry tactics tailored to target sectors and partners
- Approach potential partners such as manufacturers, service providers, and technology firms to explore distribution and partnership opportunities
- Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to align on objectives, work plans, and negotiation strategies
- Support the development of comprehensive business cases and proposals aimed at securing new partnerships or projects
- Negotiate and establish distributorship or partnership agreements with Chinese companies relevant to ALJ’s sectors of interest
- Manage long-term partner relationships, serving as a key contact point and ensuring continuous information flow and strategic alignment
- Support operational activities related to managed partnerships, acting as the internal liaison for all partner-related matters
- Develop and maintain project plans, monitor progress, and ensure effective and timely execution of key business initiatives
Qualification/Education, Experience, and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in management consulting, strategic projects, or business development, preferably in at least two of the following sectors: Mobility, Financial Services, Health, Energy & Environment and other new emerging areas of interest to ALJ (e.g., artificial intelligence, robotics & embodied intelligence, low altitude economy, green energy technologies, etc.)
Minimum Experience: 5-8 Years

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to formulate and implement strategic business development plans that align market opportunities with organizational goals, leveraging market insights to prioritize high-impact initiatives
- Strong grasp of business models and commercial viability, with the ability to critically assess whether initiatives make sound business sense
- Proven capability in identifying and negotiating new business opportunities, developing proposals, and building long-term partnerships
- Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand new industries, emerging technologies and market dynamics
