- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
- Experience in real estate development, evaluation, acquisition, construction, and site selection for industrial-scale projects.
- Experience with tax policy analysis, including the evaluation of economic development incentives and fiscal impact modeling.
- Experience with economic development impact studies or economic development marketing, government affairs and public policy.
- Experience or familiarity with a range of economic development issues such as indirect taxes, economic development policy, incentive structuring, and direct revenue modeling.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.
In this role, you will have a key role in helping to drive location strategy, site selection, and portfolio management for new and existing data centers sites and related infrastructure. You will primarily support the development of the company’s global economic development program for data centers. You will negotiate directly and work closely with energy and location strategy strategic negotiators to advise on economic development agreements and help establish standard operating policies and procedures to drive future pursuit of sustainable agreements. Your knowledge of existing economic development programs, state and local tax and regulatory environments, and company goals will position you to influence key decisions. Your tasks may include oversight of a broad range of tax and incentive issues which will require a deep understanding of site and infrastructure development strategy and milestone tracking.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the pursuit of economic development incentives. Execute multi-party incentive negotiations, and lead critical work streams such as financial analysis, statutory due diligence, and agreement drafting support.
- Support the research and analysis of economic development programs to inform project requirements, timelines, and strategy in a fluid environment.
- Identify and assess economic development trends, risks, and opportunities to develop best practices for economic development programs and projects.
- Work with geographically distributed, cross-functional teams such as acquisition and development, policy, legal, tax, data center operations, and HR to communicate strategy frameworks, collect and evaluate requirements, and address emerging issues.
- Support the team’s development, aggregation, tracking, and reporting of portfolio-related metrics such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
