Role Overview:
FMX is seeking a high-energy, Phone-Based Market Research Intern to support our go-to-market team through structured market research.
This is not a passive internship. You will spend the majority of your day on the phone (80%+), speaking directly with facilities, operations, and finance professionals to gather real-world insights into:
- CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Utilities and energy management tools
- Capital planning and asset lifecycle systems
- Adjacent operational software categories
- Identifying the buyers for these solutions
Responsibilities:
As the Phone-Based Market Research Intern, you will:
- Conduct 80-120 outbound calls per day to prospective and current FMX accounts
- Execute structured surveys with operations and facilities leaders
- Capture detailed, accurate data in Google Sheets in real time
- Identify current systems, satisfaction levels, gaps, and buying timelines
- Maintain disciplined call notes and data hygiene
- Support sales and marketing with ad hoc research
- Identify trends and summarize findings
- Assist with list building and segmentation
- Participate in call reviews and coaching sessions
- Currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college/university program
- Willingness to spend multiple hours per day on the phone
- Comfortable speaking with professionals
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to follow a structured process

- The hourly wage for this position is expected to be $15-$20/hr.
