Product Development Manager

DSJ Global is currently partnered with a fast-growing personal care product manufacturer who is seeking a high-ownership Product Development leader who thrives on execution and bringing products from concept to launch. This role operates in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent product launches, variations, and workstreams. You will take ownership of product development execution, ensuring projects move forward efficiently and reach completion. This role requires balancing autonomy with collaboration and stepping in to handle all aspects of bringing a product to market.

Responsibilities:

• Own and execute product development projects from concept through launch
• Build and manage timelines across multiple workstreams
• Coordinate with manufacturers, labs, and external partners
• Ensure deliverables are completed on time
• Drive projects through final stages to launch readiness
• Manage ongoing product updates (line extensions, variations, packaging updates)
• Maintain product accuracy, compliance, and documentation
• Support cost-saving initiatives and alternative sourcing
• Execute product updates efficiently and accurately
• Support retail-specific requirements
• Coordinate clinical, consumer, and internal testing programs
• Maintain product technical documentation and records
• Conduct light lab work as needed (basic testing, sampling support)
• Identify and resolve issues proactively
• Navigate ambiguity and drive projects forward independently
• Own goals, deadlines, and execution plans
• Solve problems without predefined processes

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4-8+ years of experience in product development, technical project management, or similar roles (CPG, personal care, or related industries preferred).
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• High level of ownership and accountability
• Comfortable working with external partners and manufacturers
