Five Towns$100k - $120kWe are seeking a detail-oriented assistant controller to join a commercial real estate company in the Five Towns area. This role is ideal for someone with 2-4 years of private accounting experience who is organized, analytical, and capable of managing financial operations across multiple properties.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Assist with budget preparation and monitor performance against budgets
- Handle tax payments and ensure timely filings
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and proper account coding
- Work closely with property management and ownership on financial reporting and property performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of private accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with AppFolio
