As an Accountant for Zayo Europe, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions including month-end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, variance analysis and training other accounting related tasks. This role requires a blends of accounting knowledge with data analysis, this positions will provide valuable knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative environment. This position will need strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills which are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Prepares month-end close by completing assigned close tasks, analyzing P&L fluctuations and preparing journal entries.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
- Responsible for accounting tasks related to current and future Asset Backed Securitization transactions specific to GL balance carve out work and documentation, intercompany reconciliation and billing and journal entry preparation.
- Assist with the completion of the monthly variance analysis used to support reporting monthly results to management.
- Collaborates with numerous teams to investigate and resolve issues timely and ensure financials are accurate.
- Helps lead the team to make sure tight deadlines are being met.
- Focused on continuous process improvement and developing efficient ways to support the business.
- Serves as a lead for the team and trains junior staff
- Assist with additional duties or other ad hoc projects as assigned by the team.
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS365 products.
- Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather relevant data, and draw actionable conclusions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization and across departments.
- Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce and/or OneStream a plus.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry a plus.
