The Line Service Technician at Rocket Air Flight Academy (formerly Melbourne Flight Training) plays a key role in keeping our training fleet ready for takeoff. This position will assist with daily ramp and ground support activities ensuring that all aircraft are prepared for flight training and maintenance scheduling while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety in all ramp, aircraft handling, and facility operations in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines.
- Conduct scheduled Foreign Object Debris (FOD) inspections of ramp and movement areas at defined intervals throughout the day.
- Tow, reposition, and secure aircraft in accordance with approved towing procedures and ramp safety standards.
- Ensure all aircraft are properly secured using tie-downs or hangar storage, including verification during nightly close procedures.
- Perform end-of-day ramp checks to confirm aircraft status, security, and readiness for next-day dispatch operations.
- Maintain adequate stock of operational supplies (e.g., engine oil) to support dispatch readiness.
- Perform visual condition checks of aircraft and promptly report discrepancies through the proper reporting channels.
- Assist maintenance personnel with non-certified support tasks such as aircraft positioning and access.
- Support aircraft readiness by staging aircraft for scheduled lessons in coordination with dispatch.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of aircraft, including scheduled washing, detailing, and interior cleaning.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of hangars, ramp areas, and common operational spaces.
- Provide student and instructor transportation support via golf carts, as needed for operational efficiency.
- Support basic facility upkeep and organization when required, ensuring no impact to primary operational responsibilities.
- Ensure all activities comply with company safety management practices and applicable FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Part 141 and 14 CFR Part 61.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards and regulations preferred.
- Prior line service experience preferred.
- Experience with towing aircraft and/or detailing aircraft preferred.
- Valid driver's license required and ability to operate ground support equipment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced aviation environment.
- Possess a can-do attitude and self-starter mentality.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards.
- Effective communication skills.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Work with cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces.
- Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
- Prolonged periods of standing and carrying materials.
- Must be able to perform work outdoors in all types of weather.
