Chief Financial Officer

Position Overview

A fast-growing, locally owned Hawaii-based company specializing in construction, infrastructure, and energy solutions is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This individual will help guide financial strategy, support company growth, and ensure operational and financial discipline across the organization. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to long-term projects that support island communities while shaping the financial future of a diversified and expanding business.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the company’s overall financial strategy aligned with business objectives
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support executive decision-making
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial reporting and regulatory requirements
• Manage cash flow, capital strategy, banking relationships, and risk mitigation
• Evaluate investment opportunities and support strategic growth initiatives
• Partner with leadership on market expansion, operational efficiency, and performance improvement
• Lead and develop the finance and accounting team, including oversight of daily financial operations

Skills

• Strong financial leadership, strategic thinking, and business acumen
• Deep knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and GAAP
• Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
• Experience working in complex, project-driven environments
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel
• Familiarity with job costing, WIP schedules, and AIA billing
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
• Executive-level experience working with senior leadership teams
• Master’s degree and/or CPA strongly preferred
• Experience in construction or related industries preferred
