Dev Sec Ops Engineer – Drives Engineering (Power & Motion Business)

Location :-Pune

Your Role

As a Dev Sec Ops Engineer within the Drives Engineering Group, you will be a key contributor to the DevOps team, focusing on lifecycle management of physical and virtual machines within a Secure Development Environment. You will design, automate, and support infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and private cloud solutions using modern DevOps and automation technologies.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect, develop, and support Virtual Machine (VM) images for servers, workstations, and ephemeral test systems
  • Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for engineering teams across VMware Cloud Management platforms and physical workstations
  • Utilize configuration management tools such as Git, Salt, PowerShell, and PowerCLI
  • Create secure, automated application packages using Chocolatey
  • Develop reusable automation tools using PowerShell and Python
  • Apply Agile development practices, including SAFe, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies
  • Architect and engineer VMware vRealize Blueprints to deliver applications and OS images through self‑service catalogs
  • Provide expertise in configuring private cloud solutions using VMware vRealize Automation
  • Automate complex infrastructure workflows using VMware vRealize Orchestrator

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the overall capability and maturity of the Drives DevOps team
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and team members
  • Act as a Scrum Master or Product Owner when required
  • Serve as a liaison between IT teams and Business Unit leadership
  • Support planning, alignment, and execution of large‑scale engineering initiatives

Interpersonal Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with ARTs, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Engineers to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Communicate effectively with the broader Engineering Community to ensure access to tools, processes, and information required for successful product development

Your Profile (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in DevOps, IT Administration, and/or Server Administration
  • Hands‑on experience with Windows and Linux, including modern and legacy operating systems
  • Strong expertise in PowerShell and/or Python for automation
  • Experience deploying and automating packaged application solutions across OS, security, and application layers
  • Knowledge of virtual machine infrastructure administration
  • Basic understanding of C/C++, particularly compiling libraries and executables
  • Proven ability to work simultaneously with multiple Scrum and Product teams
  • Experience with Agile development practices; familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is highly desirable
