Job Overview:

To provide medical and rehabilitative care to Academy teams and players. Prevent, assess, treat and rehabilitate injuries, ensuring the players are in optimal condition for training and competition.

Job Responsibilities

Injury Prevention

• Conduct regular physical assessments of players to identify any potential injury risks.
  
• Implement injury prevention programs tailored to the needs of the players.
  
• Advise players on fitness, conditioning, recovery and rehabilitation strategies.
  

Injury Assessments and Treatments

• Provide immediate first aid and medical treatment for injuries sustained during training sessions or matches.
  
• Assess, diagnose, and treat sports-related injuries and conditions (e.g., strains, sprains, fractures, etc.).
  
• Develop and execute individual rehabilitation programs for injured players.
  
• Accompany and work with the player throughout the injury and recovery process.
  

Rehabilitation

• Monitor and track the progress of players during rehabilitation phases
  
• Work with the coaching staff to integrate rehabilitation exercises into the players' training regimes.
  
• Provide guidance on return-to-play protocols, ensuring that players recover fully before returning to competitive play.
  
• Work together with the return to play coach to support the players fitness during this recovery phase.

Record Keeping and Reporting

• Maintain detailed medical records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress for each player.
  
• Prepare injury reports and communicate with coaching and management teams about player health and readiness.
  
• Daily work with treatment and injury records in the database.

Other

• Ensure all continuous professional development and training courses are up to date and the minimum professional standards of the Performance Department are met.
  
• Further duties at the discretion of line Manager or Academy Technical Director

Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a sports-related field (e.g., Physiotherapy) or equivalent practical experience.
  
• FIFA Guardian Safeguarding qualification.
  
• Proven experience working within football academies.
  
• Proficiency in hands-on therapy techniques, including taping and massage.
  
• Ability to prepare and deliver warm-up routines and activation exercises for players.
  
• Ability to design, implement, and oversee rehabilitation programs tailored to players’ specific injuries and recovery needs.
  
• Ability to collaborate effectively with medical doctors, sports scientists, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive player care.
  
• Ability to work closely with coaching staff to integrate injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies into training programs.
  
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including injury assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports for each player.
  
• Comfortable adapting to a new cultural and professional environment, with an openness to learning about Saudi football.
  
• Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferred.
  
• Multilingual skills, particularly in English and Arabic
