Duties
- Provide care and supervision for a group of children in a classroom setting
- Work collaboratively with the supervisor and teachers to develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum wrapped around the Creative Curriculum
- Communicate regularly and effectively with supervisor/staff and parents
- Be supportive and flexible with the needs of the center
- 30-hour STARS Child Care Basics Training
- Current certification in Basic First Aid and Infant/Child CPR
- MAT (Medication Administration Training)
- HIV/Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- Food Handler’s Permit
- TB test clearance
- Successful completion of a full background check.
Other skills:
- Ability to work effectively with families of diverse backgrounds, including single parents, grandparents as caregivers, co-parenting families, LGBTQ+ families, non-English speakers, teen parents, and families navigating sensitive circumstances.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Google Docs, Zoom, and other online platforms.
- At least 1 year of experience as a child care teacher/caregiver OR
- AA/BA in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR
- Working on the state-mandated requirements
