Role Overview
DCBL is a highly successful, data-driven organisation operating at scale across debt recovery, litigation, and enforcement services. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a skilled and commercially aware MI Analyst to join our expanding MI & Analytics function.
This role reports directly to the MI Manager and is a delivery-focused position, responsible for producing high-quality management information, analysis, and insight to support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making across the Group.
The MI Analyst will play a key role in translating data into clear, actionable insight, while working within frameworks, priorities, and standards set by the MI Manager.
Key Objectives
- Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful MI to support business performance.
- Enable stakeholders to better understand drivers of performance through clear reporting and analysis.
- Support the MI Manager in the ongoing development, automation, and improvement of MI capability.
- Contribute to a consistent, scalable MI framework across DCBL and DCB Legal.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc MI reports across operational, financial, and strategic metrics.
- Extract, manipulate, and analyse large datasets from multiple internal systems.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL, SSRS, Power BI, and Excel.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all MI outputs.
- Identify trends, variances, and performance drivers, clearly articulating insights to stakeholders.
- Provide commentary and analysis to support decision-making and performance improvement.
- Support deep-dive analysis requests commissioned by the MI Manager or senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with operational, finance, strategy, and technology teams to understand reporting requirements.
- Present MI outputs in a clear, concise, and audience-appropriate manner.
- Support stakeholders in interpreting reports and understanding performance data.
- Support the MI Manager in standardising and automating MI outputs.
- Assist in identifying data gaps, quality issues, and opportunities to enhance reporting capability.
- Provide UAT support for data, reporting, and system changes impacting MI.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the MI function.
- Support the development and maturity of the MI function under the direction of the MI Manager.
- Provide guidance and informal coaching to MI consumers on use of reports and tools.
- Act as a reliable delivery resource within agreed priorities and workloads.
- Strong SQL experience, including querying and report writing.
- Experience building reports using SSRS and Power BI.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Proven experience working with high-volume and financial datasets.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insight.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to tailor outputs to different audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Experience supporting MI or BI functions within complex or high-volume environments.
- Exposure to report automation and standardisation initiatives.
- Experience supporting UAT or system changes affecting reporting.
- Previous experience training or supporting users in MI tools.
- Previous experience with debt recovery, litigation or financial services.
- Salary: £36,000 - £46,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Monday - Friday (36.5 hours per week)
