Designated as a Center of Excellence, the facility specializes in surface treatment and assembly of small to medium sized landing gear systems. As a key part of the Centre of Division, supports several global programs, including: Gripen – SAAB, Hawk - BAE Systems, KF21 - Hanwha Aerospace, AW101 - Leonardo Helicopters. Job Summary
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the role presents an opportunity to work for and develop with a leading Aircraft Landing Gear manufacturer in an interesting and varied role. The position’s foundation is to define, support and continuously improve the manufacturing methods that enable Héroux Devtek’s products to be manufactured safely with the highest quality and as efficiently as possible.
The role involves the creation, modification, and maintenance of manufacturing plans & bills of materials for both the OE and MRO workstreams using the company ERP system, providing manufacturing support with rework instruction and corrective actions, the design and modification of tooling and fixtures to aid landing gear assembly. Involvement in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives will form part of the role as well as supporting manufacturing and engineering investigations when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation, amendment and improvement of manufacturing instructions and methods.
- Development, implementation, and daily use of Infor LN ERP system for planning (creation of manufacturing routings) and creation and amendment of Bills of Materials.
- Work with our Design Engineering Team to develop and modify rework schemes for recurring MRO repairs.
- Provide day-to-day support on the shop floor for the manufacturing teams on manufacture/assembly and hydraulic test related issues.
- Possess a solid foundation in manufacturing engineering practices and processes.
- Ability to understand to read and interpret engineering/technical drawings for machining.
- Experience of Solidworks for tool and Fixture design.
- Knowledge and understanding of Machining methods and tolerances.
- Experience of hydraulic actuation systems.
- Familiarity with BaaN or similar ERP systems a plus.
