Kane Partners is currently seeking a highly skilled and decisive Power Plant Shift Supervisor for our client in the Stratford, CT area. This is a critical leadership role designed for a professional who thrives in a high-stakes environment and possesses deep technical expertise in Steam-to-Energy power generation.


As the Shift Supervisor, you will be the primary authority on-site during your shift, ensuring the facility operates at peak safety and efficiency while fostering a culture of teamwork and environmental excellence.


Key Responsibilities

· Operational Leadership: Direct and supervise Operations Department personnel to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.

· Safety & Compliance: Enforce company policies, environmental standards, and health requirements. Administer the lockout/tagout (LOTO) system, confined space entry programs, and hot work permits.

· Team Development: Train shift personnel in safety protocols, equipment usage, and plant operating procedures. Implement corporate training programs and monitor staff progress.

· Administrative Oversight: Conduct performance appraisals, manage disciplinary documentation, approve timesheets, and maintain accurate facility logs.

· Strategic Troubleshooting: Anticipate and identify recurring problems, taking decisive action to troubleshoot equipment and diagnose issues before they escalate.

· Facility Advocacy: Act as the Plant Manager’s representative when upper management is off-site, maintaining high morale and a collaborative environment between all departments.


Required Qualifications

Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have direct experience within a Steam-to-Energy power plant environment.

· Education: High school diploma or GED (accredited) is required. An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.

· Experience:

o Minimum of 2 years in a power plant as a Power Operator (or comparable position).

o OR 5 years of related experience including specific training in a power plant environment.

· Licensing: Knowledge and skills sufficient to acquire an ASME QRO Provisional License.

· Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the operation and control of a steam-generating power plant.

· Schedule Flexibility: Must be able to work a swing/rotating shift, including overtime, odd hours, and on-call duties as required.
