We're recruiting a Senior Software Engineer for our client in Central Stockholm.


The Position

You'll be working with an IoT company building cloud-based access control software for buildings and used by some of Sweden's largest real estate companies and customers across Europe and North America. The platform connects IP-enabled hardware directly to the cloud and runs across a genuinely distributed system, where every door endpoint is a local processor.


This is a Backend/DevOps leaning role, with opportunities to lead cloud infrastructure and operational excellence as the team grows.


What you'll work on

  • Backend services in Java and Spring Boot
  • AWS cloud infrastructure - RDS, OpenSearch, message queues, deployment automation
  • SRE and DevOps practices - CI/CD pipelines, observability, incident response
  • Security across the stack - PKI, authentication, encryption, secret management
  • Quality engineering - clean code, testable architectures, maintainability


Tech stack

Java + Spring Boot backend, AWS (RDS, OpenSearch, message queues), Next.js + React for web, GitHub Actions for CI/CD. Highly distributed runtime - each endpoint has its own local processor.

Agentic AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) is part of the day-to-day.


Requirements

  • 5+ years commercial software development experience
  • Strong Java and Spring Boot backend skills
  • Production AWS experience - RDS, message queues, IAM, etc.
  • SRE / DevOps practices - CI/CD, observability, automation
  • Some frontend competency and willing to write UI code occasionally
  • Active practitioner of AI-assisted development tools
  • Stockholm-based or willing to relocate


Nice to have

  • Security expertise — PKI, OAuth/OIDC, threat modelling, OWASP
  • IoT / edge computing experience
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, AWS CDK)
  • Kubernetes / container orchestration at scale
