This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of land development projects while working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary professional environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the development of construction drawings, technical specifications, and construction contract documents.
- Provide comprehensive civil engineering design services, including site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure design.
- Support a wide range of project types, including commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments (single-family and multi-family).
- Design and coordinate paving, drainage, grading, water, wastewater, and related site improvements.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-based environment, including mentoring and supporting junior engineering staff.
- Coordinate and manage communication among internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in project marketing, planning, scoping, and proposal development activities.
- Manage assigned projects from concept through construction, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and permitting requirements.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive professional experience in civil engineering, preferably within land development.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Delaware, or the ability to obtain Delaware licensure within six (6) months of hire.
- Demonstrated experience with commercial, retail, and residential land development projects.
- Prior project management and/or team leadership experience.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets and maintain project profitability.
- Proficiency with engineering design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), MS Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
