The Right Profile
As Group Head of Investment Operations, you will own end-to-end operational excellence across all Syfe markets and products. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for scaling a best-in-class operations engine that supports rapid business growth while maintaining exceptional accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
You will lead a multi-country team, partner closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and the Executive team, and continuously drive automation and process optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the global operations strategy and roadmap in alignment with company goals.
- Oversee all operational functions: KYC/Onboarding, Payments & Treasury Operations, Brokerage & Trade Operations, Settlements & Corporate Actions, Reconciliations, Data Ops, and Reporting.
- Own operational KPIs which include 99.99%+ accuracy, same-day/next-day processing SLAs, customer response times, cost-per-transaction, automation rates.
- Build and lead a high-performing, multi-jurisdiction operations leadership team.
- Drive large-scale automation and straight-through processing (STP) initiatives with Engineering and Product.
- Ensure robust operational resilience, business continuity, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Own operational risk framework, incident management, error resolution, and audit preparedness.
- Lead regulatory change implementation and licensing-related operational build-outs in existing and new markets.
- Act as escalation point for critical operational incidents and senior stakeholder updates.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- A minimum of 12-15+ years of progressive experience in operations management within the financial services industry, with significant experience in a leadership role.
- Previous experience as a Head of Operations or a similar senior leadership role at a regional or global FinTech platform or a fast-growing digital broker.
- Deep understanding of the operational mechanics of digital wealth management, brokerage services (stocks and ETFs), trade execution, settlement, and custody.
- Strong track record in process mapping, optimisation, and deploying technology solutions to drive operational efficiency and scalability.
- Proven knowledge with government regulatory bodies and the requirements pertaining to segregated client funds, asset safeguarding, and general operational compliance.
- Experience managing operations across multiple international markets (SG, HK and AU).
