Communications System Engineer

We are agap2, a consulting company in Science and Engineering. We support leading clients in complex industrial and defense-related projects, including communication systems, system integration and field engineering.
Your profile:
- Technical background in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, IT or similar.
- Experience with routers, switches, firewalls and general IT infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with communication systems, preferably in field / on-site environments.
- Solid understanding of two-way communication systems and basic RF principles.
- Good networking fundamentals (IP, routing, switching – CCNA level).
- Basic knowledge of TETRA or similar communication systems is a plus.
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments (e.g. servers, Active Directory, VMware).
- Practical troubleshooting skills across systems and interfaces.
- Structured and reliable working style with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work on-site in dynamic environments.
Additional information:
- Main project locations: Wilhelmshaven, Rostock, Parow.
- High travel share (~70%), including multi-day on-site assignments (hotel stays required).
- Working hours on-site: typically early start, finishing around 16:00.
- Ideal place of residence: Northern Germany (Hannover area or within ~2–3h radius).
Languages & requirements:
- English: C1 (internal communication).
- German: B1–B2 (customer-facing).
- Eligibility for Ü2 security clearance (minimum 5 years of residence in Germany required).
- German citizenship preferred.
