What You’ll Do
- Design, enhance, and modernize enterprise business applications that support financial and transactional workflows.
- Develop and maintain back‑end services and APIs that integrate with internal and external platforms.
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate understanding of existing systems, refactor legacy code, and deliver high‑quality, maintainable solutions.
- Work extensively with relational databases and SQL-driven business logic.
- Participate in production support, incident response, and scheduled on‑call rotations to ensure system reliability.
- Partner with business stakeholders, Digital teams, and IT colleagues to deliver practical, business‑aligned solutions.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives across IBM i and adjacent enterprise platforms.
- 7+ years of experience building enterprise, back‑end, or highly transactional systems.
- Strong SQL expertise, including complex queries, performance tuning, and relational data modeling.
- Proficiency in at least one back‑end programming language such as Java, C#, Python, or similar enterprise technologies.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, and support production systems.
- Experience working in environments with formal change management and release processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical partners.
- IBM i (AS400) experience, including RPG, CL, or DB2.
- Experience supporting financial, trading, or highly transactional business systems.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, or documentation.
- Exposure to IBM i modernization tools or web‑enablement frameworks.
- Experience creating technical documentation or system design materials.
