District Sales Manager – Upper Midwest

This position plays a key role in expanding market presence, supporting distributor partners, and delivering value-driven solutions to customers across the mobile equipment industry.
What You’ll Do
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within your assigned territory
- Prospect new customers and applications aligned with targeted markets
- Analyze market potential and develop strategic plans to grow the territory
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through lead qualification and prospecting
- Conduct commercial negotiations, develop proposals, and close sales opportunities
- Serve as the primary contact for customers and distributor partners within your territory
- Build strong relationships that promote long-term customer loyalty
- Manage distributor partnerships including goal setting, joint visits, and performance reviews
- Identify training needs and support distributor participation in product training
- Promote the use of digital tools and platforms such as eSHOP
- Develop and execute account plans for key customers
- Coordinate internally with departments such as Engineering, Marketing, Logistics, Quality, and Finance to ensure customer satisfaction
- Support pricing strategy and maintain pricing information in company systems
- Monitor customer accounts and help ensure timely payments within credit guidelines
- Meet or exceed territory sales targets and business objectives
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline development, and customer interactions in CRM tools
- Provide regular reporting on sales performance, market trends, and customer visits
- Support sales forecasting and demand planning activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field preferred
- Experience in technical sales, industrial sales, or fluid power/hydraulics industry preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong negotiation and commercial sales skills
- Ability to understand technical applications and customer equipment needs
- Experience with value-based selling approaches
- Knowledge of the fluid power, hydraulics, or mobile equipment industry preferred
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Results-driven with strong organizational skills
