Work Location: Round Lake, IL (Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Test Engineer responsible for executing interoperability test cases for medical device systems, with a focus on validating data exchange, integration workflows, and conformance to healthcare interoperability standards. This role emphasizes hands-on test execution, defect identification, and accurate reporting within a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
Test Execution & Support: Execute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platforms. Confirm data exchange workflows (e.g., device-to-system, system-to-system) for accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Record test results, capture logs, and document defects with clear reproducibility steps.
Interoperability Validation: Perform testing aligned with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles. Validate message structure, data mapping, and end-to-end transaction workflows. Verify system behavior under normal and exception scenarios (e.g., malformed messages, dropped connections).
Defect Tracking & Analysis: Identify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability, data integrity, and system integration. Support root cause analysis efforts by providing detailed logs and test evidence. Re-test fixes and support regression testing cycles.
Test Environment & Data Management: Configure and use test tools, simulators, and mock systems to emulate interoperability scenarios. Assist in maintaining test environments and connectivity configurations.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and traceable test execution records in ALM/test management systems. Provide daily/weekly status updates on test progress, issues, and risks. Support audit readiness through proper documentation practices.
