Simpson College seeks qualified candidates for a Full-Time Assistant Coach – Football

Principal Duties

This Position Reports Directly To The Head Football Coach And Will Assist In Managing The Day-to-day Operations For The Football Program, Emphasizing

• Serves as a representative of the College, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the SC community and with the public.
• Assist the Head Coach with the training and coaching of assigned student-athletes.
• Assist with the scouting and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
• Assist with the promotion of the football program
• Abide by the policies, regulations, and rules of the NCAA, conference, and Simpson College, including the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Coaches.
• Assist with the monitoring and enforcement of players’ conformity to the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Student-Athletes.
• Assist the Coordinator with the weekly game plan
• Organize, manage, and direct all aspects of student-athlete recruitment for the football program
• Assist with the retention of football student-athletes
• Assist with NCAA compliance matters under the supervision of the Assistant. Athletic Director
• Perform other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Valid Driver’s License & CPR Certification
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population
• Strong organization skills,
• Demonstrable aptitude for computer skills (PC-based Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel).
• The successful candidate will also be able to work both as a team member and independently.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, and 3 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
