Overview
A well-established industrial services organization is seeking a Business Development Manager to own and grow a multi-state western U.S. territory. This role is responsible for developing new business, expanding existing customer relationships, and driving revenue across a highly technical, service-based industrial market.
This is a high-autonomy role requiring strong field presence, consultative selling ability, and comfort operating independently across a broad geographic region.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop a defined western U.S. territory
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across industrial customers
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships in technical environments
- Manage full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, solution development, negotiation, and close
- Collaborate with internal technical and operations teams to align service delivery with customer needs
- Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and territory forecasting
- Represent the organization in customer meetings, site visits, and industry engagements
- Monitor competitive activity and market trends within assigned territory
Ideal Background
- Experience in technical B2B sales within industrial markets
- Background in aftermarket services, equipment service, or field-based industrial solutions
- Proven ability to manage a multi-state territory independently
- Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills
- Comfortable with significant travel (50%+)
- Experience working in environments with limited structure and high autonomy
