DESCRIPTION

The purpose of a Procurement Analyst is to provide direct support to the procurement staff, retail operations and cooperative members across multiple banners. As a member of the Logistics team, the Procurement Analyst will be responsible for the ordering and replenishment processes for warehouse inventory, while maintaining optimal service levels and quality of item data to ensure operation efficiencies.


Essential Functions

  • Analyze inventory levels for turn and sale demand forecasts, and consumption patterns to determine replenishment needs for warehouse inventory
  • Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods, avoiding stock outs and surplus inventory
  • Monitor and maintain service level objectives to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment
  • Develop and track performance metrics related to service levels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Partner with Inventory Control/Category Managers to ensure cycle counts, discontinued and expired items are identified and reconciled
  • Responsible for expediting the return to vendor process (RTV) for discontinued items and/or overstocks
  • Stay informed about seasonal trends, supplier options, and industry advancements to inform purchasing decisions
  • Responsible for the timely updating of plan-o-gram changes, including discontinued and new items
  • Maintain accurate records of item data, including new and discontinued items, flag maintenance and item status changes
  • Address and resolve issues that could impact service level targets, including supplier delays
  • Regularly update inventory and procurement systems to ensure data consistency and integrity
  • Conduct periodic audits to identify and resolve discrepancies in item information
  • Partner with suppliers to adhere to delivery terms, and lead times to achieve cost-effective procurement
  • Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in classes (minimum of 60 credits completed towards business degree required)
  • 1-3 years of supermarket or other retail experience
  • Prior Wakefern inventory and/or warehouse distribution experience desired
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Experience with RAPID, CGO and Microstrategy preferred
  • Well-developed computer skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong customer service and leadership skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the attention to detail


Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit at desk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to adhere to the company’s four day in office work requirement


Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000 annually. Placement in the salary depends on several factors, including experience, skills, education, geography, and budget considerations.
