Enterprise Data Center (EDC) is a global organization responsible for managing the Firm’s enterprise data center portfolio. EDC Asia Project team collaborates with Technology project teams, Corporate Services, and Data Center service providers to deliver new data center buildouts, enhancements, and changes. This process involves gathering initial requirements, designing solutions, monitoring construction, and ensuring technology equipment is properly installed and managed throughout its lifecycle.


The Firm is engaging a Data Center Cabling service team to provide managed cabling engineering design, coordination, oversight, and lifecycle support services for the Firm’s existing and new data center facilities in Japan, delivered as an independent outsourced service.


General Tasks of Service Team

The Cabling Engineering Service Team shall provide the following managed services:

  • Provide cabling design management and coordination services for existing and new data centers, including alignment with global EDC Infrastructure Cabling Engineering standards and design guidelines.
  • Provide preparation and coordination support for cabling‑related tender documentation and specifications, including design deliverables, scope definitions, and evaluation support during vendor selection processes.
  • Provide coordination services with internal technology teams (e.g. networking, server, and security teams) to consolidate cabling requirements.
  • Provide project management and oversight support for cabling‑related activities, including budget tracking, vendor coordination, review of design and shop drawings, logistics coordination, scheduling oversight, and commissioning and handover coordination.
  • Support project close‑out activities, including consolidation of cabling operation manuals and as‑built documentation.
  • Support planning and coordination of new or changed cabling requirements within existing data center environments.
  • Support maintenance and accuracy of cabling documentation and records (e.g. patching records and patch panel records).
  • Provide coordination support with data center operations teams for move, add, and change activities, including vendor coordination and consumables sourcing oversight.

Service Availability

  • The service shall be available during normal business hours, with additional service coverage provided as required based on project needs.
  • Where necessary, the service may provide oversight or coordination support outside normal business hours to support vendor‑performed installations, testing, or handover activities.

Technical Capability Coverage

The Service Provider shall ensure its service organization has capability and familiarity with:


  • Structured data center copper and fiber cabling solutions, including Cat6A copper & fiber (OS2, OM4+) products, experience in high density fiber cassette solutions.
  • Data center racks, cabinets, and patching systems commonly used in enterprise environments.
  • Industry‑standard cabling testing methodologies and applicable ISO/TIA testing standards.
  • Common data center cabling interfaces and architectures (e.g. LC, MPO/MTP).
  • Coordination with enterprise networking platforms where relevant.
  • Familiarity with Fluke Network Instruments (e.g. DSX-5000 or 8000 Cable Analyzer)
  • Familiarity with LC, MPO/MTP interfaces for single or multimode fiber solutions


Service Capability Requirements

The Service Provider shall ensure its service organization has the capability to:

  • Produce and review technical design documentation using AutoCAD
  • Deliver services in both English and Japanese (written and verbal)
  • Operate within live data center environments while adhering to operational and safety constraints


Desired Service Team Capabilities

The Service Provider’s service organization may additionally demonstrate:


  • Familiarity with internationally recognized data center cabling standards such as RCDD
  • Experience delivering cabling engineering services in mission-critical or regulated environments
  • Capability to operate structured project management, documentation, and reporting processes
  • Familiarity with Cisco and Arista equipment
