Location: Cambridge, Ontario

Company: Summit Water

Reports to: CEO initially; dotted-line support to Operations, Sales, Finance, and Engineering

Role Overview

Summit Water is seeking a practical, detail-oriented Business Operations & Systems Analyst to help improve how we run the business. This is a cross-functional role focused on reporting, data cleanup, process documentation, and better use of our ERP, CRM, and internal systems.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, comfortable working with imperfect data, and willing to work hands-on with sales, operations, finance, engineering, and service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain weekly reports on sales, quotes, orders, margins, inventory, backlog, and pipeline activity.
  • Clean up and standardize business data, including part numbers, item descriptions, pricing files, customer records, vendor records, and inventory data.
  • Support better use of ERP, CRM, SharePoint, and other internal systems.
  • Document standard operating procedures for key business processes, including quote-to-order, order entry, inventory, production handoff, service, purchasing, and CRM usage.
  • Assist with pricing analysis, margin analysis, supplier/customer data, inventory analysis, and product/category reporting.
  • Support special projects, including acquisition integration, systems improvements, AI initiatives, and operational improvement projects.
  • Work with department leaders to identify process gaps and recommend practical improvements.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Accounting/Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in business analysis, operations analysis, sales operations, ERP/CRM support, supply chain, finance, or process improvement.
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, industrial products, service, or project-based businesses is an asset.
  • Equivalent hands-on experience will be considered for candidates with strong practical business systems, reporting, and process improvement skills.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong Excel skills; experience with reporting tools, ERP systems, CRM systems, or databases is an asset.
  • Comfortable working with messy or incomplete data and turning it into useful business information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Practical problem-solver who can improve processes without overcomplicating them.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work across departments.
  • Comfortable documenting processes and helping teams follow standard procedures.
  • Curious, hands-on, and willing to roll up your sleeves.

Ideal Candidate

You are not just a spreadsheet person. You enjoy understanding how a business actually works, cleaning up messy processes, improving systems, and helping people make better decisions. You are practical, organized, and comfortable working in a growing business where not everything is perfectly documented yet.

Compensation

Competitive salary based on experience. Anticipated range: $85,000–$105,000, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
