Lab Technician - 1st Shift

Position Summary

This position is responsible for cutting, mounting and polishing samples, as well as microhardness testing.

Essential Functions

• Cut, mount and polish samples to prepare them for micro-hardness testing and microstructure evaluation.
• Perform micro-hardness testing and basic microstructure evaluations.
• Review furnace charts.
• Maintain lab equipment and supplies.
• Support all aspects of production and quality control functions as needed.

• Read and comprehend blueprints, procedures specifications and sampling plans in English.
• Knowledge of basic metallurgical principles, standards, methods and practices is a plus.
• Solid basic math skills required.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Some heavy lifting is required.
• Previous experience working for an aerospace company is preferred.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

$40000 - $60000 / year

Compensation is paid hourly and may be adjusted based on level of experience, overtime and shift.
