Position Description

As a team member of the Solution Architect Japan team, you will play an active role in pre-sales, partnerships, business development, and various other activities, with a primary focus on securing new business in Japan. This involves actively driving and managing technical initiatives with both existing and new potential automotive clients in the country. Additionally, you will contribute to establishing country-specific partnerships, such as: System-on-Chip (SoC) manufacturers, ecosystem providers, multimedia content providers, etc. Your responsibilities will also extend to supporting and advising project leaders during complex change requests for ongoing projects. Acting as a technical expert, you will share extensive Cinemo product knowledge with customers during the pre-sales phase to secure growth in the country.

Close collaboration with Cinemo’s Sales, Partnerships/Product Management, Software Engineering and Customer Project Management departments, as well as customer technical staff, is essential to ensure the optimal positioning of Cinemo’s portfolio in the customers’ projects. Occasionally, the role may also involve supporting activities at the regional APAC level (e.g., customer projects outside Japan) or globally (e.g., participation in events such as CES).


In this role, you will:

  • Provide architectural guidance to existing and prospective customers on Cinemo’s products and technical capabilities

  • Translate customer use cases into product features and anticipate technical needs

  • Support integration of Cinemo solutions into customer products and ensure smooth technical adoption

  • Build proofs of concept, prepare technical documentation, and deliver product demos to customers and partners

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Customer Project Management, and Engineering teams

  • Contribute to RFI/RFQ responses and support preparation and negotiation of statements of work to help win business


What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

  • Strong understanding of software engineering processes and complex technical systems

  • Very good knowledge of C/C++ and working knowledge of Java/Kotlin

  • Self-motivated and proactive in reaching out to customers and partners, with the ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

  • Very strong written and spoken Japanese and English communication skills
